ABOUT READINGPALS
Do you have a passion for education, an excitement for reading, or a desire to positively impact a child's life? With just 45 minutes a week, you can make a difference. Become a ReadingPal and help a child on their path to kindergarten readiness.
ReadingPals spend 45 minutes per week during the school year mentoring a Pre-K student (aged 4-5). Using books, puzzles, Play-Doh, and other supplied learning activities, ReadingPals help their students to build early literacy and social-emotional skills that are necessary for kindergarten readiness. Mentors get to choose their preferred school site (based on availability from the list below) and the day of the week that works best for their schedule (Mon-Fri).
Mentors receive training and ongoing support. A Level II background screening is required (paid for by ReadyKids!). Volunteers must be 18 or older.
For questions about ReadingPals, please contact Program Manager, Kari Lindemann, at Kari@ReadyKidsFL.org or 850-572-3674.

“We are so grateful to have ReadingPals on our campus! Our youngest learners benefit from the one-on-one time with their buddy, building foundational skills like letter recognition and letter-sound identification while simultaneously developing a relationship with their mentor! The ReadingPals program provides stability for our students in knowing that their buddy will be there for them every week no matter what!”
